INTRODUCING BLESS PROJECT

We are thrilled to officially introduce BLESS – a Horizon Europe project aiming to enable the widespread adoption of Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools for chemicals, materials, and their resulting products. The project is expected to last 3 years and is funded by the European Union under the European Health and Digital Executive Agency.

BLESS strives to address persistent barriers to LCA uptake, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which face significant challenges, including limited expertise, high implementation costs, and difficulties in accessing reliable data. This hinders their ability to apply LCA systematically.

BLESS aims to solve this problem by delivering a user-friendly, cost-effective digital tool that evaluates the entire life cycle of products, from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal.

The project has commenced in Bologna, where the multidisciplinary consortium (comprised of universities, research centers, large industry, and SMEs) gathered from 8 to 9 September to align on objectives, milestones and the overall roadmap for next three years of collaboration.
